Casting continues at WWE Studios, with two notable names now lined up to star in its latest production.
Variety reports that husband and wife team Ed Harris and Amy Madigan are signed to appear in Big Red, a family drama set in the 1960s and featuring WWE star Randy Orton. The movie follows a bright young boy whose English teacher (Harris) assigns him a project alongside the school outcast ‘Big Red’, until an encounter with a bully sends events out of control.
Orton will be playing the father of one of the boys, who campaigns to have the teacher fired.
Harris boasts a long career in movies and television, including Apollo 13 and The Rock, and more recently Appaloosa, which he also wrote and directed. Amy Madigan, who will portray the school principal, holds a similarly impressive resume, being most recently seen on television in Grey’s Anatomy.
Big Red is written and will be directed by Mike Pavone, and will be filmed in New Orleans.
