Awesome Kong
After seemingly months of speculation, there is finally clarity as to Awesome Kong’s status within TNA Wrestling.
Just a few hours before the company put on the Destination X pay per view on Sunday, TNA President Dixie Carter confirmed that the for Knockouts champion has been released from her contract.
“Due to personal reasons, Kong asked for/was granted an early release from contract,” Carter wrote on her Twitter account. “We support her during this time & hope she is back soon”
Kong reportedly asked for her release from the company following her much publicized backstage incident with Bubba the Love Sponge.
The big female wrestler allegedly assaulted the radio shock jock over comments he made about Haiti following the big earthquake on the island country.
