WWE did it’s highest rated ECW broadcast of the year on the same night Vince McMahon announced the show was being canceled.
The Feb. 2 edition of ECW of Syfy did a 1.05 rating with 1.413 million viewers according to Dave Scherer of PWInsider.
The boost likely came due to the buzz surrounding the WWE chairman’s scheduled announcement of the future of the brand.
The previous week’s ECW did a 0.9 rating with 1.158 million viewers.
ECW will cease to exist in three weeks.
