Full WWE Raw Results: Edge Turns Heel, Sheamus Wants Cena’s Title

Edge

Edge

Monday’s WWE Raw saw Edge return to his old ways as a heel, while Randy Orton got a big push forward as a babyface. Meanwhile, Maryse and Sheamus each made their cases clear for wanting title shots as did Miz and Chris Jericho with the Unified Tag Titles.

Here’s how everything played out.

WWE Raw opened this week with Batista coming to the ring. The Animal put himself over for winning the No. 1 Contender’s Match last week, but still complained about the way he lost to John Cena at WWE Extreme Rules.

He called Cena’s victory the lowest moment in the WWE Champion’s life.

Batista announced that he and John Cena would be involved in a Beat the Clock tournament tonight with the winner choosing the stipulation for their match at Over the Limit.

The Animal called for his opponent, Miz, but was instead answered by Sheamus. The Celtic Warrior put over his victory at the last PPV and said that he deserved to be in the WWE Championship match instead of Batista.

Further, he challenged Batista to a match for his spot against Cena at Over the Limit. The Animal declined the offer and order Sheamus out of the ring.

Daniel Bryan vs. Batista

Miz came out of his his match against Batista on WWE Raw in street clothes. He claimed that he was unable to wrestle due to the Knockout Punch he suffered at the hands of the Big Show.

Showing a fake doctor’s note, Miz ordered his WWE NXT rookie Daniel Bryan to take his place. The mentor and student got into a little bit of a verbal back and forth with Bryan vowing to make The Animal tap out.

Miz just laughed as the match got underway.

Bryan countered out of a Batista Bomb in the opening seconds of the match and began to hold his own despite the noticeable size difference.

At one point Batista was on the verge of tapping to a modified arm bar and choke, but got to the ropes. Shortly thereafter, the larger Batista hit a spear and successful Batista Bomb to win the match in 5:06.

He continued the assault after the match with another pair of Batista Bombs.

Cena will face Chris Jericho for his Beat the Clock match.

Backstage, Eve was doing a photo shoot with her new WWE Divas title when WWE Raw guest host Wayne Brady appeared.

They talked briefly until Jillian showed up and wanted to sing for him. He got her out of there and then left himself.

As Eve went to resume the shoot she was attacked with her belt by Maryse.

The cameras then cut to Edge backstage who was trying to figure out what he could and could not do on the Cutting Edge now that WWE is in a PG environment.

He told Josh Mathews that he was going to usher in a new era of controversy in World Wrestling Entertainment because he was the Rated-R Superstar.

John Morrison

John Morrison

John Morrison vs. Ted DiBiase

Prior to his match against John Morrison, Ted DiBiase came out to ring to talk about his problems with R-Truth stemming from last week’s WWE Raw broadcast.

DiBiase vowed that he will hire a personal associate and that their first assignment will be to slap some sense into Truth.

The Million Dollar son didn’t seem to enthusiastic about the match and after taking a moonsault from Morrison on the outside, refused to answer the count of 10 and instead walked away.

Morrison said he didn’t want to debut on Raw with a victory like that and instead said that he would be DiBiase’s “Virgil” if he came back to the ring to restart the match.

DiBiase agreed.

The second match ended with another Morrison victory, this time by pinfall. Afterward, DiBiase beat down Morrison until R-Truth came out to make the save.

John Cena vs. Wade Barrett

John Cena came out to a loud pop for his Beat the Clock match against Chris Jericho on WWE Raw.

As it turns out, Cena wouldn’t get the chance to face Jericho, however. Instead, the WWE Champion would face Jericho’s WWE NXT Rookie Wade Barrett.

Jericho said he was tired of beating Cena and that he wouldn’t beat Barrett in the time allotted. The NXT Rookie added that Cena wouldn’t win at all.

Well, they were both wrong.

Cena made Barrett tap with 30 seconds remaining. As he was about to announce the stipulation for his match against Batista at WWE Over the Limit, Sheamus came out and assaulted the WWE Champion.

So, Cena’s announcement will have to wait.

Maryse

Maryse

Maryse vs. Nikki Bella

Former WWE Divas champion Maryse followed up her assault of Eve with a match against Nikki Bella of the Bella Twins on WWE Raw.

Maryse made relatively short work of the Twin with a French Kiss and a win in under a minute.

After the match she got on the mic and said something sexy in French. Then she showed the pics from her photo shoot after she layed out Eve earlier in the night.

Eve then ran down to the ring to get her revenge, but was restrained by a referee as the Canadian made her exit.

Zack Ryder vs. Mark Henry

Zack Ryder was excited to be on WWE Raw and let us know. He invited Alicia Fox and Gail Kim to ringside to watch him. Ryder was ready for a rematch against Primo Colon, but wound up facing Mark Henry instead.

WWE Raw guest host Wayne Brady made the opponent switch.

The World’s Strongest Man came out and dominated Mr. Woo Woo Woo initially, but the obnoxious Long Island native would get in a few shots of his own.

Still, it wouldn’t be enough as Henry put him away with the World’s Strongest Slam.

Henry left with a WWE Diva on each arm.

Backstage, Miz and Chris Jericho were commiserating about being knocked out by Big Show. The two concluded that they carried him for 16 months and would get their revenge.

It seems as though Jericho has a plan.

Vladimir Kozlov was backstage with WWE Raw guest host Wayne Brady. Kozlov thanked him for giving him proper competition tonight unlike MacGruber.

Santino Marella comes in for his comedy skit and makes reference to Brady’s game show, Let’s Consummate a Deal. He wanted to team with the Russian, but William Regal would team with Kozlov instead.

Kozlov and Regal exited for their match as Goldust made his return to WWE Raw dressed as Alice from the Brady Bunch.

The Hart Dynasty appear to be the opponents for Kozlov and Regal.

Hart Dynasty vs. Vladimir Kozlov and William Regal

Chris Jericho and Miz joined Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole on commentary for the match between The Hart Dynasty and William Regal and Vladimir Kozlov.

Miz and Jericho were adamant that Big Show cost them both the Unified WWE Tag Team Championship.

The challengers took the upper hand early in the match by double teaming Tyson Kidd.

In somewhat un-PG fashion, Jericho called Cole a jackass for bringing up the fact that Jericho had more followers on Twitter than Miz.

Meanwhile, back in the ring David Hart Smith made Regal tap out with the Sharp Shooter.

Miz then immediately hit the ring, but got taken out by Smith. Jericho followed him and successfully hit the Code Breaker on Smith.

The pair stood in the ring and celebrated as Miz hit the Skull Crushing Finale on Smith to finish him off.

Randy Orton

Randy Orton

The Cutting Edge

The babyface run for Edge is over. The Rated-R Superstar went back to being a heel on WWE Raw on Monday night.

He made his return to WWE Raw with an episode of The Cutting Edge.

He began by talking about his transition back to Raw from Smackdown and how all his work at taking the WWE World Title would be for not as he was drafted.

He touched on his reasons for taking out Randy Orton last week and was about to call out Mr. RKO, but Wayne Brady beat him through the curtain.

Brady said he wanted to know what it felt like to be a WWE Superstar. Edge told him to feel free. With that Brady launched into a promo about being the best Raw guest host ever. Instead of Bob Barker he was Bob Darker.

As he was continuing, Randy Orton cut him off and made his way to the ring.

Orton and Edge had a stare down that was broken up when Brady went to shake the Viper’s hand. Orton hit him with an RKO instead.

Edge said that he would not be RKO’d tonight and listed a number of reasons why. Among them, Edge reminded him of their team, Rated RKO.

Orton didn’t seem to keen on that idea, so Edge continued and said that the fans never fully accepted him. He said that he was disappointed that the fans chanted for Orton, but that he wasn’t Champion.

Then Edge threatened him and said that he would keep laying out Orton until he was just an after thought on the show.

Orton snapped and went for the RKO, but was blocked by Edge. As the Rated-R Superstar set up for the spear, Orton was thinking of a counter and did just that. As Edge launched in for the spear, Orton successfully hit him with the RKO as the show drew to a close.
