As reported on PWTorch and elsewhere, the Honky Tonk Man has posted on his official website and his Facebook page that he is ‘very close’ to signing a deal with TNA. In fact, his site’s front page now sports the TNA logo and their promotional video.
What makes this particularly interesting is that the site claims HTM has been in touch with Hulk Hogan and TNA ‘since December’, but also on the site are blogs posted by Honky Tonk Man openly criticizing both.
On December 2nd last year HTM suggested Hogan was a double agent for WWE, saying that TNA boss Dixie Carter; “… wants to throw money at Eric Bischoff and Hogan … I see the scam. TNA dead in 12 months.”
He followed this up in a podcast only two days ago where he says “It’s just a ploy by Hogan. I don’t think it has anything to do with TNA, it’s got more to do with Spike TV. Hogan’s got ulterior motives.”
So … Has HTM changed his mind? Is this all a work, to bring him in as an adversary for Hogan? Or is the rumoured ‘very close’ deal just some sort of gag?
Only time will tell!
