WWE announcer Jim Ross is hoping to return to ringside at the company’s biggest pay per view event of the year.

Ross told the crowd and Monday’s WWE Raw event in Oklahoma City that he was hopeful that he would return by WrestleMania.

The Hall of Fame broadcaster echoed his own sentiments in a blog on Tuesday.

“I don’t [know exactly when I'll return] but my standard and honest response remains the same and that is that my goal is and always has been to return to WWE at Wrestlemania 26,” Ross wrote on his website. “If all the necessary arrangements can be made from a business perspective then that goal will hopefully become a reality. There is really no more to this story than I told the live audience during Raw while the show was in a commercial break and that I would ‘hopefully’ see them at Wrestlemania.”

Ross was misquoted on many websites as saying he will be back by WrestleMania, which caused a minor buzz late Monday night.
