WWE’s Chris Jericho paid a visit to an Atlanta radio show, where he mentioned his recent arrest and problems with celebrity gossip site TMZ.
He told the Regular Guys Show on 100.5 FM that the main reason the incident led to his arrest was that he refused to implicate Greg Helms. “I went to jail for about 40 minutes because there was a cop … who basically arrested me for lying to him. He wanted me to rat out my friend.”
Jericho mentions no names, but says that when the officer asked, “Was this the guy that was freaking out and yelling and screaming?” he denied it. Unfortunately he couldn’t come up with a suitable alternative story and was arrested.
Of the incident itself he says, “We were just arguing and screwing around. One thing leads to another … I just laugh because it was a $25 violation and next thing you know, TMZ gets a hold of it and it becomes we crucified an infant wearing just suspenders and our weiners hanging out.”
He also mentions that he has had dealings with TMZ before, where they would call with a simple request and then “bury you”.
