- What will happen on March 20th in Ontario when Austin Aries and Kenny King meet ROH World Champion Tyler Black and Roderick Strong in a “Fans Choose the Stipulation” tag main event? As revealed yesterday (http://rohwrestling.com/news/article.aspx?id=3258), Roderick Strong wants no part of this match after what went down in New York at the “8th Anniversary Show”, even though he signed on with Black for the bout well in advance. ROH officials have ordered Strong to honor the contract and the match will take place! Strong doesn’t trust Black, and certainly doesn’t trust Aries or King, and when you add in the fact that all four men will learn of the stipulation chosen by the ROH faithful on that night, this could be a perfect storm for Roddy. Tyler Black has maintained throughout that business is just that, and he has nothing personal against Strong. Will Black and Strong be able to co-exist in Canada? And what will the fans of ROH put these men through? Get your tickets at www.rohwrestling.com and be there live to see it all go down! With over 400 ballots already cast (and counting!), fan voting continues via email at ROHFansVoice@gmail.com!
- Signed for Dearborn, MI on March 19th is a rematch from “Glory By Honor VIII”! Petey Williams went toe-to-toe with then-champion Austin Aries in one of 2009’s most overlooked bouts before suffering a brainbuster on the floor and losing via countout. Now, “Maple Leaf Muscle” returns to ROH and wants to exact revenge on A-Double. “I may not be getting a shot at gold,” said Williams. “But Aries pulled a fast one, and I’ve been waiting for the moment to get it back. March 19th is that moment.”
- ROH officials have received a huge challenge for March 26th in Phoenix. Silence has finally been broken. Stay tuned to ROHWrestling.com for breaking news on this matter.
- Signed for next Saturday night when ROH and HDNet return to Philadelphia for another National Television taping is Pick 6 action. Roderick Strong is in the thick of the ROH title picture, but ranked sixth he sits very vulnerable. He can change that by defeating Kevin Steen on 3/6! “I’ve seen guys at Number 6 drop out of contention without even losing,” said Strong. “I’m not going to sit by and get bumped out because someone ranked higher gets beat. I have too much on the line. Black gave me his word, and technicalities will not be an excuse.” It’s Strong versus Steen on 3/6 in Philly! Get your tickets now!
- Tag Team action has been signed for Night One of Ring of Honor’s big Phoenix debut! As the Kings of Wrestling prepare for their meeting with the Briscoes at “The Big Bang!”, Claudio Castagnoli and Chris Hero have signed an open contract for March 26th. “No one in the world does Tag Team wrestling like the Kings,” said Hero. “We will take on any two men; and we will KRS-1 them to ashes.” ROH officials are sorting through the possible challengers as we speak, and we will have an announcement next week in the ‘Wire!
- Speaking of Castagnoli, ROH and HDNet officials are not happy with him after being informed that he will not be appearing on March 5th and 6th in Philadelphia as he and Kings of Wrestling partner Chris Hero will be overseas. Castagnoli was originally scheduled to face Mark Briscoe in a Pick 6 match that was snowed-out earlier this month, and it was understood that the match would be made up at the March tapings. It was Castagnoli’s involvement that led to Hero’s defeat of Jay Briscoe earlier this month, and since then things have only gotten hotter. The Briscoes are unhappy that they will not get a shot at redemption next weekend. “They hold those Pick 6 spots hostage,” said Jay Briscoe. “Run off like a couple of punks because they know what’s comin’ to them. It’s no secret, they got an excuse of Mother Nature last time out, but the truth is they scared and everyone knows it. They wanna keep their spots ‘cause when we whip their (expletive) they gotta run to someone else’s doorstep.” ROH and HDNet officials are currently in talks about how to prevent people from keeping their rank when inactivity becomes an issue. More on this as it happens.
