Sting
Former WWE and current TNA Wrestling star Pope D’Angelo Dinero believes that Sting will soon be retiring.
In an interview with the Dothan Eagle, Dinero essentially began lobbying for a match with “The Icon” before he hangs it up.
“My immediate goal is to get Sting in the ring before he exits for good,” said the 31-year-old wrestling veteran. “This is the last year. Pope’s been known to give some prophetic advice, and I can tell you this year is the last year for Sting. Pope wants to get him in the ring before he retires for good. I know in this business, when retirements happen, it’s not set in stone, but when Sting retires, I truly believe it’ll be for good.”
Granted his comments turned more into his gimmick at points, but they do give credence to the long suspected rumor that Sting is at the end of his career.
There has been speculation for months that if he no longer wrestling with TNA at the time, WWE would be interested in inducting him into their Hall of Fame at next year’s WrestleMania with it being in Atlanta— the home of WCW.
