Rob Van Dam
For the first time since March 26, 2001, WWE has permanent head-to-head wrestling competition on Monday nights.
TNA Impact moves into it’s new 9 p.m. time slot on Spike TV tonight in an effort to reignite the Monday Night Wars that brought professional wrestling to its highest popularity levels ever in the 1990’s.
For their part, TNA is promising a lot of surprises in the first five minutes of the show in an effort to take a bite out of WWE’s audience.
Early rumors have former WWE stars Jeff Hardy and Rob Van Dam appearing on the show. Sting, arguably the biggest star in WCW history, is also scheduled to appear on Impact.
The show will also feature Ric Flair wrestling in the U.S. for the first time since his WrestleMania 24 loss to Shawn Michaels in 2008. Flair will team with AJ Styles to take on Hulk Hogan and Abyss.
It is also Hogan’s first televised match in the U.S. since 2006.
Meanwhile, rumors of a match featuring Kevin Nash and Eric Young vs Scott Hall and Sean Waltman surfaced over the weekend.
WWE is not blatantly trying to counter the competition and is instead going full speed ahead on the road to WrestleMania with business as usual.
John Cena and Vince McMahon will face each other one-on-one on Raw. No doubt Batista (if not Bret Hart) will get involved in the match.
Randy Orton will face Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase in a handicap match as Legacy continues to break apart.
And magician Criss “Mind Freak” Angel will serve as the guest host.

I think it’s gonna be a TNA night tonight, WWE has nothing new to offer tonight, even if they brought Bret Hart.
Gonna be watching both.
As for the WWE not offering anything new… tonight there won’t be, but i’m sure Vince is throwing a hissyfit about this. Meaning that after WrestleMania, we may be seeing some “interesting” developments… maybe a push out of the PG era and into a new Attitude era
TNA!!! TNA!!! TNA!!! TNA!!!
Ill be watching RAW. Who the hell wants to see Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan fight? This isnt 1995 anymore.
Waltman, Nash and Hall? Seriously? Come on people!
Well tna has always something interesting, raw always does the same shit over and over, but raw may just may get more ratings because it’s family oriented and kids watch because of cena, but ric vs hogan makes it a more interseting show since it’s been a decade since they have fought and are legends so I say watch tna
Watch TNA for a Hogan/Flair matchup??? Head on down to your local bingo hall and you will see a better fight than that was. Raw may need more new developments but TNA is using 10-20 year old plots from Raw. When you hit 55-60+ its time to not see you wrestling…its an embarrasment. Would you really like to see Mae Young wrestling on TNA because she used to be a star???
