TNA Tag Champ Matt Morgan reports on his Twitter that his father has undergone surgery to remove a tumour from his brain.
Morgan Tweets that he has been in Connecticut with his family; “It was looking very bad at 1st, but thanks to prayers and positive thinking,my dad was finally able to get off respirator and start rehab … I prayed for a miracle and that’s just what we got … ”
At the Genesis PPV on January 17, Morgan dedicated his tag-team win alongside Hernandez to his dad.
“I started to break down after the match was done, and I gave him a little shout out on camera,” he told the Miami Herald. Morgan also credits the support he received “from the top down” in TNA, including President Dixie Carter immediately burning a DVD of Morgan’s match and sending it for his father to see.
“That means a lot to me. I didn’t ask her to do that. She did that. Where does that happen? That doesn’t happen anywhere else.”
