TNA Wrestling Disappointed with Show Quality, Not Poor Ratings

TNA Wrestling has taking a pounding in the ratings since moving to Monday nights to compete head-to-head with WWE Raw.

This past Monday the show managed only a 0.6 rating on SpikeTV while WWE surged to a 3.7 on USA thanks to post-WrestleMania fallout and Shawn Michaels’ farewell.

Despite the extremely low rating, TNA employees are more upset with lack of quality television being produced. The show was not perceived as a good episode in the TNA offices according to PWInsider’s Mike Johnson.

TNA officials were expecting WWE to outperform them in the ratings that night by a wide margin.

Many are speculating that Monday’s earlier start time (8 p.m.) is an experiment to see if the struggling Impact broadcasts can generate a larger audience with a one-hour lead on WWE.
