UK Turns Away Wrestling Stars

This past weekend, several former WWE stars arriving for the Wrestle Slam tour of the UK were detained and turned away by immigration staff. The wrestlers, who included the 74 year old Mr Fuji, were interviewed for several hours upon arrival.

Fuji, Bushwhacker Luke, The Barbarian, Tugboat, Nikolai Vollkoff and Nora “Molly Holly” Greenwald were all reportedly without appropriate paperwork to enter and work in the UK, and while they were allowed temporary entry all were sent back to the US the following day.

Wrestle Slam Promoter Anthony Thomas apparently put about rumours of sabotage by a rival company, claims denied by UK immigration who insist that the wrestlers simply did not have the correct documentation (which presumably those performers who were allowed into the country did have).

What makes this potentially more than an inconvenience for those turned away is that a charge related to the incident will remain on their files for the next 10 years.
