Jack Swagger
In one of the main events of the night, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger defended his title against Randy Orton.
Swagger was the underdog despite coming in as the champ. With the match being contested under Extreme Rules, Orton used the title belt to his advantage at one point and nearly scored the pinfall.
It wouldn’t be long after that point before Orton resorted to other foreign objects, including a trash can. He nailed Swagger with it about as hard as one could. It sounded like a gunshot when the metal made contact to the champion’s skull.
Orton continued to dominate and hit a DDT off the second rope. With the match securely in hand, Orton went for the RKO on a chair, but Swagger was able to counter out of nowhere and put the Viper into the steel, spine first.
Moments later Swagger hit the Gutwrench Powerbomb to retain the title.
After the match Orton hit an RKO on the champ outside the ring.
