It doesn’t appear as though WWE has big plans for Christian once ECW is replaced by WWE NXT in a couple weeks.
The ECW Champion made an appearance on Monday’s Raw to announce the future of the talents in the ECW brand.
Then, he challenged current WWE Champion Sheamus to a match. Although he was able to get some good offense in and put forth a strong showing in the match, he was jobbed out cleanly.
It could be foretelling of his future as champion.
Although the fact that WWE is not quietly taking ECW off the air and is instead giving the brand time on its flagship show could be a sign that they plan to keep the belt around, but treat it as second-tier belt such as the US Title.
