Daniel Bryan
This week’s edition of WWE NXT was taped in Las Vegas, city of rich dreams.
The NXT Rookies will be ranked tonight and judged for the first time since the process started.
Matt Striker ran down the four criteria the talents would be judged on: win-loss record, quality of opponent, work ethic and the all-important “it factor.”
With that in mind the standings are revealed for the first time and Daniel Bryan holds the lead overall. Wade Barrett is in second place while Justin Gabriel is in third.
The rest of the top ten is rounded out by Heath Slater (4th), David Otunga (5th), Skip Sheffield (6th), Michael Tarver (7th) and Darren Young (8th).
Young played up his partnership with CM Punk and vows to step it up. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that his head will be getting shaved in the future.
Daniel Bryan and David Otunga got into a little bit of a tussle after Miz’s rookie made a comment about people being married to celebrities.
The next grades will come out in six weeks at which point there will be an elimination.
Striker announces that all of the rookies will compete in a Battle Royal tonight for the right to host WWE Raw next week.
In the first match, Wade Barrett, CM Punk, Matt Hardy, and R Truth defeated Carlito, William Regal, Christian, and the Miz. Jericho was supposed to wrestle, but Barrett took his spot so Y2J could do commentary.
David Otunga won the right to host Monday Night Raw by virtue of winning the NXT Rookie Battle Royal.
After the match Otunga said that he would be bringing the A-List to Raw and that he wanted 427 green M&M’s in his dressing room.
And like that, the show is over.

I am happy for Otunga winning the battle royal tonight. However, the rankings a bit off. I know D. Bryan is tough and has some real cool moves, but the man has not even won a match. He should have not been #1. The pros he has been in matches with was not to his credit other than he lost. There are two other rookies who won matches against pros were ranked lower. Bryan and all of his ten years has not taught him how to win a match. Slater should have ranked #1, Gabrel #2, Otunga #3, Bryan #4, Barrett #5, Young #6, the last two big babies rank them how you like. Otunga won tonight battle royal, so his rank goes up higher.
Come on!!! That match was setup for Otunga to win! Think about, it will nice to have Jennifer Hudson on Raw!
