John Cena
ECW Champion Christian, whose status is all but settled with the demise of the brand, made an appearance on WWE Monday Night Raw this week. He announced that every superstar in ECW will become a free agent once the show is replaced by WWE NXT. He also announced they are free to sign with whatever brand they wanted to.
Further, he said that he wanted to test the waters of Raw and challenged Sheamus to a match.
Christian checked with the show’s guest host, NASCAR driver Carl Edwards, who granted him the match and immediately called for a referee.
Although he was able to get some good offense in and put forth a strong showing in the match, Christian was jobbed out cleanly.
It could be foretelling of his future as champion.
WWE is continuing to push the break up of Legacy and has pitted two of the faction’s members against each other on Monday’s Raw.
Randy Orton announced that guest host Carl Edwards set up a match between Ted DiBiase and John Cena.
With DiBiase tied up, Cody Rhodes would be facing Orton in a singles match on Raw.
The Miz and Big Show captured the unified WWE Tag Titles from Degeneration X on Monday’s edition of Raw.
CM Punk and Luke Gallows were the first team eliminated in the Triple Threat match for the titles. Shawn Michaels caught CM Punk with Sweet Chin Music to send the Straight Edge Society packing.
That would be the last bit of offense HBK would get in for a long while as Miz and Big Show worked him over for the better part of the next five minutes.
After hitting Big Show with Sweet Chin Music, Michaels tagged in Triple H who came in on fire. However, Michaels would tag himself back in the match leading to confusion between DX. Miz seized the opportunity to roll up Michaels from behind and get the pin.
And just like that, DX dropped the tag titles to Big Show and Miz.
After the match Triple H and Michaels got into a bit of a spat and HBK stormed off. Perhaps Legacy won’t be the only team breaking up in the near future.
Gail Kim became the No. 1 contender for the WWE Diva’s Title on Monday’s Raw by defeating Jillian Hall in the finals of the Divas tournament.
She will face Maryse at the WWE Elimination Chamber pay per view for the vacant title.
The match lasted barely a minute.
“The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase is headed into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Cody Rhodes defeated Randy Orton on Monday’s Raw with a little help from WWE Champion Sheamus. Orton was in total control of the match until the Irish champ appeared and distracted him.
The opening allowed Rhodes to hit Orton with Crossroads to take it home.
After the match, Sheamus hopped in the ring and assaulted Orton. However, Rhodes came back with a chair and made the WWE Champion leave Orton alone.
NASCAR driver Carl Edwards, who was serving as guest host of WWE Raw on Monday, announced that all six participants of the Raw brand Elimination Chamber match will square off in singles competition on next week’s WWE Raw.
It will be the “go home” show for the Raw brand prior to the pay per view event.
The matches are as follows:
Ted DiBiase vs. Kofi Kingston
Randy Orton vs. Sheamus
Triple H vs. John Cena
Jerry Springer will serve as the guest host of the show.
WWE set up a match that has been over 12 years the making on Monday night and quickly took it back. Would Vince McMahon face Bret Hart at WrestleMania? Yes and no.
After making quick work of Ted DiBiase, John Cena turned his sights to Batista, Vince McMahon and the attack they laid on him at last week’s Raw.
Cena called out “The Animal” who didn’t appear. He then called out McMahon who did appear, but with 10 security guards in toe.
McMahon denied having anything to do with Batista’s attack on him. The WWE gave 1,001 reasons as to why Batista may have acted alone, but Cena didn’t seem to buy any of them.
After going on for a bit, Cena dropped the bombshell that Bret Hart wants to wrestle again. He said that Hart wants to face Vince McMahon at WrestleMania.
McMahon said that he thinks Cena was wrong, but Cena wouldn’t back down and demanded an answer. Would he face Hart?
The answer was yes.
Cena left and Vince showed a replay of McMahon’s assault on Hart last week. After the clip was through, Hart came out and attacked McMahon.
After the chairman powdered, he told Hart that he was changing his mind and would not face him at WrestleMania because he deserved to be screwed.
That sent Hart into a frenzy and he started tearing apart the Raw set as the show drew to a close.
