WWE Raw Results: New WrestleMania Matches, Vince vs. Cena

WWE Raw wasted little time in getting into their hottest angle heading into WrestleMania as Shawn Michaels and the Undertaker took center stage.

Meanwhile on TNA Impact, Hulk Hogan and Abyss were taking on Ric Flair and AJ Styles. Interesting counter programming.

Undertaker begins cutting a promo on HBK that boiled down to his belief that that streak will continue at WrestleMania while Michaels’ career will be over.

Shawn Michaels came out and stood firm on his belief that he can and will end the Undertaker’s streak. He went so far as to claim that the Undertaker was afraid of him.

The segment went on for a while and a recap here could not do it justice. The fact is that this pair knows how to work a mic and get their angle over in a big way.

Gail Kim, Eve Torres and Kelly Kelly defeated Maryse, Katie Lea Burchill and Alicia Fox after Eve made Maryse tap out. Interesting to see a submission in a Divas match.

Miz and Big Show come to the ring and say that John Morrison and R-Truth are a boring tag team and that they’d rather face the Bushwackers at WrestleMania.

ShowMiz vs. Morrison and R-Truth went to a no contest in a non-title match.

In a backsatage segment featuring Raw guest host Criss Angel, we learn that Evan Bourne will face William Regal in a Money in the Bank Ladder Match qualifier.

Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes def. Randy Orton in a handicap match after DiBiase hit Dreamstreet on Mr. RKO.

Backstage, Batista tells Josh Mathews that he vows not to get involved in the main event between John Cena and Vince McMahon.

Out in the ring Triple H and Sheamus do a segment to set up their match at WrestleMania. The two brawl as they announce the match.

Backstage, Criss Angel and Santino Marella do the comedy segment of the night.

It is announced that “Stone Cold” Steve Austin is guest hosting Raw next week and that it is a WrestleMania Rewind special with the following matches:

John Cena vs. Big Show (WrestleMania 20)
Triple H vs. Randy Orton (WrestleMania 25)
Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho (WrestleMania 19)

Also next week the contract signing between Bret Hart and Vince McMahon for WrestleMania.

Vince McMahon cuts a promo on Bret Hart before his match. He then announces that the match against John Cena was changed to a handicap gauntlet match.

McMahon brought out Vladimir Kozlov, Drew McIntyre, Jack Swagger, Mark Henry to take out Cena. Henry had his reservations as he’s a babyface now. No man was able to do the trick so Vince made it a no DQ match and called for more attacks.

Now it’s a schmoz. Batista takes out Henry, Kofi Kingston runs out, but is taken out by Batista who then took out Cena giving Vince McMahon the win.

Batista stands over Cena as the show drew to a close.
