Degeneration X
WWE opened Monday’s Raw broadcast cold by bring Degeneration X to the ring. Before their match against Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase, Triple H and Shawn Michaels talked over their riff from last week that left HBK laying.
Michaels asked his tag partner to bow out of the Royal Rumble to give him a better shot at winning and earning a rematch against the Undertaker at Wrestlemania.
However, Triple H did not back down. Instead, he offered to work with Shawn to eliminate the 28 other opponents, but then wrestle him all out for the title shot.
The two worked well during the match until the finish when Michaels tagged himself in when Triple H was going to lay out Rhodes with a Pedigree. Instead, HBK hit Sweet Chin Music to take it home.
After the match the two stared each other down for a second before patching up their differences… unconvincingly.
