WWE will pay homage to pro wrestling in Japan at this year’s WWE Hall of Fame ceremony.

According to reports in Japan, WWE has invited Antonio Inoki to join the Hall of Fame over WrestleMania weekend in Arizona.

Stan Hansen will do the honors of inducting him.

Inoki is the founder of New Japan Pro Wrestling and famously wrestled Ric Flair in the main event of a two-day wrestling festival for peace in Pyongyang, North Korea.

He retired from active wrestling in 1998 and formed Inoki Genome Federation in 2007 after YUKE’s purchased a majority stake in NJPW.

It has previously been reported that Bret Hart will also induct his late father Stu Hart into the WWE Hall of Fame this year.
