“John Morrison is me with the volume turned up.”
So says John Hennigan, the former Johnny Nitro. In an interview with the Ottowa Sun, Hennigan talked about his musical tastes, past and present in-ring personas, his new DVD and being good friends with Miz’s dad.
He says that he liked being Johnny Nitro, but doesn’t believe the fans identified with him as much. ” … it’s like a Johnny Hollywood or Johnny Danger. They’re stage names.”
“John Morrison is more like me. … Everyone has a flamboyant part in real life. They have a wild side. In my job, I get to show that wild side.”
“It’s cool where you can be a character and also be yourself.”
Hennigan recently said something similar in regards to fellow Superstar the Miz. He also reports taking a bit of ribbing from his former tag partner about the recently released John Morrison: Rock Star DVD, “… but I made sure to give a signed copy to him … and to his dad, who is a good friend of mine.”
