Cleveland’s premier professional wrestling promotion, Absolute Intense Wrestling, is hosting Ohio’s largest professional wrestling tournament ever at the West Park Party Center, located at 3556 West 130th Street in Cleveland, Ohio on April 9th and 10th.

The tournament, which has been dubbed “The Jack Of All Trios,” will be comprised of nearly fifty wrestlers broken up into sixteen teams of three, known as “trios.” The teams will compete in a single-elimination tournament over the course of two days to be crowned the first ever “Jack Of All Trios.”

The winning trio will also earn a spot in the largest annual professional wrestling tournament in the world, CHIKARA’s 2010 “King Of Trios,” in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Bob Ziolkowski

A black veil is once again draped over the world of professional wrestling.

Independent pro wrestler Bob “Baby Haystacks” Ziolkowski and Eric Tunney, nephew of former WWE executive Jack Tunney, passed away recently.

Their deaths come on the heels of Friday night’s apparent suicide of former WWE and WCW wrestler Chris Kanyon.

Like Kanyon, Tunney was said to have been suffering from depression in the last few years. He was found dead in his Ontario apartment on WrestleMania Sunday.

Although results of an autopsy were inconclusive, the coroner believes that the cause of death will most likely be ruled as accidental.

Friends of the 45-year-old had been concerned for his well being recently.

Meanwhile, Wisconsin independent pro wrestler Bob Ziolkowski died Sunday morning according to a report on PWInsider.

The 34-year-old large-statured talent held the Powerhouse Pro Wrestling championship on several occasions.

He is survived by his wife, Lori.

For the first time in the young promotion’s history, Wrestlicious will be taping a television broadcast on the road.

Jeff Hardy

Former WWE colleagues and long-time friends Jeff Hardy and Gregory Helms took in a little UFC together on Wednesday.

The pair were seen on camera during the UFC Ultimate Fight Night live special on Spike TV.

Both men live in North Carolina and the fights were held in Charlotte.

Hardy has been working for TNA Wrestling as of late while awaiting his trial on drug trafficking charges.

Helms was released by WWE on February 26 ending a nearly 10 year run with the company.

• Each WXW Superstar will draw a number. All numbers drawn are FINAL and cannot be negotiated between wrestlers nor the WXW Office
• WXW Superstars will enter the ring according the number they drew earlier in the night
• 2 Men will enter the ring to begin the match
• Every 1 minute thereafter, 2 additional MEN will enter the ring at a time
• 2 Men will continue to enter the ring at one minute intervals until all competitors who drew a number have entered
• The only way to eliminate a WXW Superstar from XTREME WAR is to throw the wrestler over the top rope to the floor

Wrestlicious

The all-girl pro wrestling promotion Wrestlicious has signed TV deals with more stations throughout the US.

In addition to their deals with national networks MavTV in the US and BiteTV in Canada, the promotion appears to be going for an old-school sydication deal.

ECW was the most recent promotion to find success utilizing this approach as they built a name for themselves before landing on TNN (now Spike TV).

By building the promotion through syndication ECW was able to acheive success on pay per view.

However, there are no known pay per view plans for the upstart Wrestlelicious promotion at this time.

Scott Steiner

Former WWE, WCW and TNA Wrestling talent Scott Steiner is scheduled to work in Puerto Rico.

Steiner is scheduled to face Ray Ganzalez in a match for WWC.

The promotion, which was co-founded by Carlos Colon (father of Carlito and Primo Colon) and Gorilla Monsoon among others, has already began the push for the Big Poppa Pump appearance.

They shot an angle setting up the match at Abdullah the Butcher’s restaurant in Atlanta according to PWInsider.

MTV 2

MTV will be dusting off their boots and entering the world of pro wrestling once again.

“Lucha Libre” will debut on MTV2 in May and follow in the MTV footsteps of “Wrestling Society X” and “Tough Enough.”

The official description of the show from MTV reads: “Lucha Libre” is the action-packed wrestling phenomenon from Mexico, with the beloved masked Luchadores, who inspired the blockbuster hit Jack Black movie “Nacho Libre.” MTV2 will tailor the pop culture classic adding its own MTV flair to this historically highly rated series, and bringing it to the US for the first time ever in English.

The footage is believed to be repackaged AAA broadcasts with overdubbed English commentary according to The Wrestling Observer.

Insane Clown Posse

Insane Clown Posse’s Juggalo Championship Wrestling held their “Oddball Bonanza” wrestling show on Saturday in Philadelphia.

Kevin Gill, who sent in the results, reports that the event was sold out with 1,748 in attendance.

Here are the results.

2 Tuff Tony Defeated “Holy” Trent Acid in a wild and bloody brawl to open the show that saw some insanely violent use of barbed wire boards, barbed wire baseball bats, and even a metal folding chair wrapped in barbed wire! Tony took the time as always to share and consume Bacardi Limon before and during the match, and the blood flowed freely on both men as Tony beat Trent from pillar to post, getting the victory with his new finisher “Dick For Dinner” (Inverted sit down package piledriver). Along the way Trent Acid’s clothes, hair and flesh were torn by the wire.

JCW Tag Team Champions The Thomaselli Brothers (Vito and Brandon) lost to the Nigerian Nightmares!
Shocking upset as the veteran Thomaselli brothers were defeated by the massive and bizarre Nigerian Nightmares who played the #’s game with their entire entourage at ringside and involved in the match, winning over the crowd in the process. A sick double team van terminator on the Nightmares was not enough to put away these savages. The Thomaselli’s left with the losers share of the purse, but they still held their tag titles high above their head, as the Nigerian Nightmares celebrated their victory with tribal drums, dancing, and the consumption of raw meat!

Handicap Match
The Worlds Tallest Juggalette! vs The Jobbers (Frick, Frack, and F*ck)
These poor jobbers were not prepared for the 7 foot tall woman who entered the ring to a massive ovation from the capacity crowd. Following an ill advised test of strength by the smallest of the jobbers she proceeded to beat the snot out of these guys with stiff clotheslines, chops, forearms, headbutts, and chokeslams that drew gasps from the crowd. Like a cat toying with it’s prey, when the Worlds Tallest Juggalette had dished out enough beating she stacked her opponents up in a pile and got the 3 count!

JCW Heavyweight Championship Title Match
Champion Corporal Robinson defeated Madman Pondo in a violent and bloody thumbtack and light tube deathmatch that saw dozens of light tubes used to carve up the otherwise handsome faces of champion and challenger as thumbtacks stuck in the face, head, arms, and legs of champion and challenger. The violence in this match was a spectacle to behold as these guys have a long and violent history, and they held nothing back as true violence was unleashed. Despite being piledrived through a table in the center of the ring, Corporal Robinson fought back valiantly, and gave Pondo the Boot Camp off the top rope through a stack of light tubes for the hard fought victory.
