On an upswing following Saturday’s Internet pay per view and the return of Christopher Daniels, Ring of Honor announced two big main events for their return to Chicago later this month.

Current champion Tyler Black will face Chris Hero for the ROH Title in the first announced main event.

Also announced was a Chicago Street Fight that will see Kevin Steen and Steve Corino face Colt Cabana and El Generico.

The show takes place April 24 at the Frontier Fieldhouse in Chicago Ridge, Illinois.

Also scheduled to appear are: Jay and Mark Briscoe, Roderick Strong, The American Wolves of Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards with Shane Hagadorn, Shawn Daivari, “Skullkrusher” Rasche Brown, Kenny King, Rhett Titus, The Dark City Fight Club and Sami Callihan.

TNA Wrestling star Christopher Daniels returned to Ring of Honor at Saturday night’s Big Bang Internet pay per view.

“The Fallen Angel” challenged Davey Richards to a match following his victory over Kenny King.

The crowd popped huge for his return and began chanting “Fuck TNA.”

His status within the Dixie Carter franchise is unknown at this time although he is still listed as being on the active roster at TNAWrestling.com.

A number of TNA talents were surprised to see him appear at the show according to PWInsider’s Mike Johnson.

Daniels is also scheduled to appear at the upcoming ROH shows in Manassas, VA and New York City.

Awesome Kong

It didn’t take long for recently released TNA talent Awesome Kong to find work.

The former Knockouts Champion will be debuting in Ring of Honor on April 8 according to PWInsider’s Mike Johnson.

The event, which will be held at the Manhattan Center in New York City, will also mark the return of the moniker “Amazing Kong.”

She will face Sara del Rey.

“I feel very happy to be joining the ROH roster!” Kong wrote on her Twitter account shortly after the news broke.

The dominant female wrestler was granted her release from TNA last weekend after months of controversy surrounding her backstage altercation with Bubba the Love Sponge.

(Bristol, PA) Ring of Honor is happy to announce that Chris Hero has signed a new contract.

Chris Hero debuted for ROH at “Hell Freezes Over” in January of 2006 in an ROH World Title match against then-champion Bryan Danielson. In the four years since that match, Hero reigned as one-half of the ROH World Tag Team Champions alongside Claudio Castagnoli for several months in 2006, and has evolved into one of the most feared strikers in the company.

Due to his devastating elbows and vicious kicks, Hero has been dubbed “That Young Knockout Kid”, and truly broke out in 2009 with matches against Bryan Danielson at “Final Countdown: Dayton”, Eddie Kingston at “Final Battle 2009”, Tyler Black at “Clash of the Contenders” and many more. 2010 looks to be another banner year for Chris Hero as he and Claudio continue their pursuit of the ROH World Tag Titles, and Hero looks to finally capture the ROH World Title as well.

Hero looks to continue his winning ways this weekend in Phoenix as the Kings of Wrestling compete in tag team action against Scorpio Sky & Scott Lost on March 26th, and Hero will be in action on the afternoon of March 27th as well.

- As was reported earlier in the week, the injury bug has bitten once again. Due to the AC Joint separation he has suffered, Player Uno of the Super Smash Brothers will be unable to perform when ROH returns to Michigan on March 19 and Ontario on March 20. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Player Dos, currently without a partner, will still compete in the scheduled tag match against Kevin Steen and Steve Corino.

- Kevin Steen, however, made a request for March 20th in Ontario. It appears that Steen hasn’t forgotten the upset win that the SSB scored over him and El Generico back at Death Before Dishonor VII. The Smash Brothers were originally set to face Mark and Jay Briscoe on 3/20, but with Player Uno’s injury that is now out of the question. Steen has challenged Player Dos to singles action instead! Dos has agreed and it is official. Steen versus Dos on March 20 in Ontario. Can Dos pull off another miracle, or will the “new” Kevin Steen simply be too much to handle?

- The Briscoe Brothers will now face Josh Raymond and Christian Able on 3/20 in Canada! Truth Martini’s henchmen had an excellent showing against the brothers from Delaware at “Clash of the Contenders”, and now have the opportunity to get immediately into title contention should they score a non-title win against the six-time champions north of the border!

- Signed for ROH’s huge Phoenix debut on March 26th is tag team action! Petey Williams went toe-to-toe with then-champion Austin Aries in one of 2009’s most overlooked bouts before suffering a brainbuster on the floor and losing via countout. Now, “Maple Leaf Muscle” returns to ROH and wants to exact revenge on A-Double. “I may not be getting a shot at gold,” said Williams. “But Aries pulled a fast one, and I’ve been waiting for the moment to get it back. March 19th is that moment.”

As the Kings of Wrestling prepare for their meeting with the Briscoes at “The Big Bang!”, Claudio Castagnoli and Chris Hero have signed an open contract for March 26th. “No one in the world does Tag Team wrestling like the Kings,” said Hero. “We will take on any two men; and we will KRS-1 them to ashes.” ROH officials are sorting through the possible challengers as we speak, and we will have an announcement next week in the ‘Wire!

- Speaking of Castagnoli, ROH and HDNet officials are not happy with him after being informed that he will not be appearing on March 5th and 6th in Philadelphia as he and Kings of Wrestling partner Chris Hero will be overseas. Castagnoli was originally scheduled to face Mark Briscoe in a Pick 6 match that was snowed-out earlier this month, and it was understood that the match would be made up at the March tapings. It was Castagnoli’s involvement that led to Hero’s defeat of Jay Briscoe earlier this month, and since then things have only gotten hotter. The Briscoes are unhappy that they will not get a shot at redemption next weekend. “They hold those Pick 6 spots hostage,” said Jay Briscoe. “Run off like a couple of punks because they know what’s comin’ to them. It’s no secret, they got an excuse of Mother Nature last time out, but the truth is they scared and everyone knows it. They wanna keep their spots ‘cause when we whip their (expletive) they gotta run to someone else’s doorstep.” ROH and HDNet officials are currently in talks about how to prevent people from keeping their rank when inactivity becomes an issue.
